This article examine how digital information manipulation contributes to the spread of political hoaxes ahead of Indonesia’s 2024 General Election, focusing specifically on TikTok as the medium. The study uses a library research method with a descriptive-qualitative approach. Data were gathered from academic journals, news sources, reports from independent institutions such as Mafindo and Bawaslu, and screenshots of hoax content circulating on TikTok during the campaign period. The findings indicate that TikTok serves not only as an entertainment platform but also as a space for spreading manipulative political narratives using provocative visuals and digital technologies such as deepfake. The observed hoaxes mostly target presidential candidates and electoral institutions, employing misleading framing techniques to shape public opinion. These findings reveal that political hoaxes have become a strategic tool for power control in digital spaces. Active public participation, strengthened digital literacy, and firm regulatory efforts are necessary to counter disinformation during the election period.
